Maternity Denim
2/23/2017
I'm almost in my third! trimester, which seems crazy! This pregnancy has flown by! I have definitely been finding it a little more challenging dressing this time around. Last time when I was at this stage it was summer, so I could just wear my Birkenstocks and dresses. Winter in Edmonton does not give me that luxury. I have been dressing more in leggings and maternity jeans.
Thank goodness for Pink Blush Maternity. These ripped denim jeans are a style that I would normally wear sans baby bump, and the large band is great for supporting my belly. They also have tons of other styles here.
Also this top is all kinds of amazing. It's on trend with the little cut outs, and it's super comfy. Plus I can wear it with leggings as well. I find a lot of maternity tops are kind of boring and not on trend, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem.
I also have my eye on one of their beautiful nursing/maternity robes. I think it would be great to bring to the hospital, to at least try and feel a little bit human post delivery, haha!
Where do you shop for cute maternity clothes?

Homemade Granola Recipe
2/16/2017
You know what a good friend is, someone who brings over snacks for a playdate at your house because you are just a little too unorganized, haha. The other week my friend Erin came over with her son Henry for a play date. She brought all the goodies for Yogurt Bowls including her delicious Homemade Granola.
I couldn't stop dreaming about her yummy Homemade Granola after she left, so I had to get the recipe from her. It's all I have been wanting to eat since. I figure at least it's a somewhat healthy pregnancy craving, haha!
Emery just had to get in on the action, and kept saying "Cheese" every time I took a photo, haha! She is such a little ham.
Homemade Granola Recipe
Ingredients:
-2-3 cups of nuts ( I used pecans, sliced almonds and whole almonds)
-1/2 cup shredded coconut unsweetened
-1/2 raw pumpkin seeds
-1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
-roughly 10 chopped dates
-1/4 cup melted coconut oil
-3tsp vanilla extract
-3 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
Mix all the nuts, seeds, and dates together. Mix together the melted coconut oil, vanilla and cinnamon. Coat the nut/seed mixture with coconut oil mixture and spread on a pan. Cook it for 20 minutes at 320C, take it out and stir. Cook it for another 5-10 minutes or until nuts look toasty.
This recipe is so easy and super delicious! When Erin brought it over we had it with plain Greek Yogurt (love it with Liberte Mediterranee 11%), topped with berries and a little maple syrup. So darn good! I've been eating it for breakfast or a bedtime snack.
Let me know if you try it out, or what your favourite Granola recipe is!

DIY Toddler Teepee
2/08/2017
For Christmas this year, we (and by we I mean by Hubby) made Emery this adorable Teepee. How sweet and talented is my husband? Emery and I are pretty lucky girls!
We used this tutorial that I found on Pinterest with a few tweaks. It took about a day to make, was easy and inexpensive.
Emery is really starting to get into playing with all of her dolls and stuffed animals. It's so darn cute!
On Emery: KicKee Pants Long Sleeve Diagonal Ruffle Tee and Solid Ruffle Pant in Blush /co
Bird Stuffie: Fancy Lady Doll from Anthropologie
Blanket: BlaBla Dolls Oh So Sleepy Coverlet c/o
As you can see we spray painted the poles gold at the top and at the bottom. You have the option of keeping the edges frayed on the outside or you can have them clean. We opted to have them frayed. We also just braided some twine together to create the rope we need to fasten the poles together.
The perfect spot for reading, and this girl loves to read! Also the perfect and cutest toy bin from Pehr Designs! Their collapsible bins are really so great for throwing all of E's toys in. I just can't decide if this one is going to stay out here or go in the new nursery.
*Felt Garland c/o Clever + Arrow*
A few tips for making this Teepee:
-We went with the brightest drop cloth we could find, originally we found one at Rona but it was too grey. This one we found at Home Depot.
-Check over your drop cloth before cutting to make sure there are no marks or scuffs in important spots. We had to sew the little tab at the top of the opening since there ended up being a scuff there.
-Sew everything really slowly and straight. If you end up sewing the pole holes a little crooked, it is way harder to get the poles in there.
-Try not to spray paint your poles when it's freezing cold out, haha! My hubby spray painted them in the garage but had to bring them in because it was so cold. This meant he had to paint them a few more times since it was snowing and got them wet, haha.
We added a few special touches like fun pillows, lights and the felt garland to make it a little more special. The possibilities of personalizing it are endless!
Hope you enjoyed this little DIY!
