Ruffled Sweaters
10/31/2017
The other week I finally got to see my girlfriends, Ashley and Vickie. It had been months since we hung out last. Alder and I met up with them for brunch at Little Brick. There is something so important about hanging out with your girlfriends. It felt so nice to have some adult conversation, even with our little baby side kick, haha!
*Alder is wearing From Harper Harem Pants, Joe Fresh Knit Sweater & Wylo & Co. Moccasins.*
Backpack: The Honest Company
Jeans: LOFT
Hat: Joe Fresh (if you follow me on Instagram, you will see I can't stop wearing this hat, it's too good!)
Shoes: Converse
Can you believe this bag is a diaper bag? It's the City Backpack from The Honest Company and it's amazing! It has lots of different compartments, comes with a change pad, and even has an insulated pocket for bottles and snacks. It's not only chic but helps keeps my hands free so I can wrangle my little toddler & baby.
This was obviously too pretty to eat, right?
We all hold pretty pumpkins and fake laugh, right?
Can we please just talk about this beautiful ruffle sweater from Splurge & Co.? I stopped by their pop-up shop when they were in Edmonton the other weekend. They have the most amazing pieces in their online shop. I'm in love with this gorgeous embroidered sweater. They also sell shoes, stationery and even the cutest baby goodies. Definitely add this shop to one of your online favourites!
Those eyes and cheeks are too much! Truth be told, he was rather grumpy when were taking photos. It's just how it goes sometimes.
I hope your week is off to a great start!

Woodland Animals DIY Dress Up Costumes
10/30/2017
When I saw these floral woodland animal headbands from Land of Lennon, I knew they would make the cutest & easiest costumes for Halloween. I also knew they would be the perfect addition to Emery's dress up clothes. Emery loves playing dress up and make believe, and these little headbands are so easy for her to put on. They would also make perfect stocking stuffers for Christmas. Make sure to tell Santa!
To create these little costumes, I mostly used things that were already in the house with the exception of the animal tails. For the Raccoon and Fox tails, I went and got some felt from Michaels. I just drew out the tail shape with a pencil (I looked on Pinterest for an idea of shape), and then cut them out. I sewed on the white part of the fox tail first, then sewed the two pieces together. I stuffed them with stuffing from an old pillow, and sewed the end closed. I just used a few pins to attach them to Emery's clothes, but I'm going to sew an elastic to them so she can wear them around her waist.
For Emery's Outfit I used:
Vintage Orange Sweater
DIY Felt Fox Tail
I think you could use any brown/orange/yellow coloured clothes that you might already have in your closet. I used my make-up to make a little fox face. The hardest part was getting a three year old to sit still, especially when doing her nose, haha!
Old Navy Pjs (worn backwards)
Stuffing for Tail
This one was probably the easiest out of the three. I just looked at Pinterest for make-up ideas, again using my own make-up. I luckily already had pjs that worked for the costume. If you wanted to add a little more, you could probably cut out white circles and add them to the pjs for spots.
This Floral Pumpkin was a #DIY I did a few years ago, you can find it here.
These Land of Lennon headbands are just so beautiful. I love all the details, and the colours. She also has these amazing Unicorn headbands, as well as lots of other awesome goodies!
Haha can you tell Emery wasn't getting tired near the end of taking these photos? The moodiest raccoon you ever did see.
For the raccoon tail, I used the same technique as the fox tail. I sewed on the grey stripes before sewing the tail together.
On Emery:
Thrifted Columbia Fleece One Piece
DIY Felt Raccoon Tail
What are your kids dressing up as for Halloween? Do you have a bin of fun dress up clothes? I'd love to hear!
Happy almost Halloween!

Nest in the City
10/10/2017
I'm always so proud and amazed at all the hard working, creative ladies in my city, Edmonton. They are constantly impressing me. It makes me even more excited to be a Brand Ambassador for Nest in the City. Nest in the City is a creative lifestyle market filled with amazing small shops, workshops and more!
We had the fun opportunity to model items from my favourite small shops that will be at the market. These photos are by the talented Jillian Schecher.
Emery is wearing a Plum.Kids bunny onesie, Baby Bird Creations Yeg Bow.
Alder is wearing a DotBoxed boy onesie.
TeePee by House of Hale.
Wooden toys by Play559.
Yay Banner sign by Little Lamb Co.
Emery is wearing a From.Harper mushroom onesie & Baby Bird Creations Yeg bow.
Blouse by Maple & Leigh.
Can you even handle this cuteness? These photos really capture the love between these two adorable little babes.
Emery is wearing a From.Harper mushroom romper, the cutest matching toques from Hayden & Ella Handcrafted, and Alder is wearing a hooded onesie from Hazel Berry.
Baby wearing is one of my favourite ways to get in some extra snuggles, and be productive! This beautiful sling is from Aura Leaf. The gorgeous canvas sign is by Second Chance Creations. I'm wearing a stripe maxi dress from Maple & Leigh (they have so many cute pieces!), and Alder is wearing a Hazel Berry onesie and Huddy Buddies booties.
Hands down baby snuggles are the best!
Tickets are now available for this awesome event! Here is a list of all the fun activities & workshops (umm hello can we say cookie bar?!). You can buy a general admission pass, or if I were you I would grab a Friends of the Nest Pass for Girls or Boys. It's full of goodies from Nest & the City & Friends!
I hope to see your smiling faces on Sunday!
