Mama and Me Maternity Photos
6/06/2017
I wanted some photos of just Emery and I (plus baby bump) before baby showed up, so I just got my husband to snap these photos a couple of days before our son showed up.
I will always cherish the time Emery & I got to have together just the two of us. This beautiful little girl made a Mama. She's the sweetest and sassiest little lady, and always keeps me smiling. I can't even write this without crying. I am looking forward to the time we will have hanging out with her little brother now, and watching them grow together.
Emery was so sweet to the baby while he was in my belly. She was always singing, talking and kissing baby. Now that he is here, she does the same (not without a little jealously & sass now and then, haha). I can't wait to watch their friendship grow.
These Nursing/Delivery robes from Pink Blush Maternity are pretty much the best. They are so beautiful but also comfy. I have been using it postpartum too, since getting up with a toddler & newborn is kind of chaotic it's nice to have this to throw on. It makes me feel a little bit more put together and it works for nursing.
Also if you are pregnant, you MUST get these pjs from PinkBlush as well. I got these near the end of my pregnancy, and I can't stress enough how amazing they are. I wish I had gotten them sooner! They are soft as butter, pretty, and the waistband on the pants are so comfy for that large growing belly. They are also nursing pjs, and I have been wearing them still.
What are your favourite maternity clothing items or brands? I always love hearing about peoples hidden gems.
I hope your week is going lovely so far! Thanks for stopping by!

Family Maternity Photos

Hard to believe that I use to have our little baby in my tummy not that long ago. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know our little babe is here now. We got my friend Ali to snap some photos of us the weekend before our little dude showed up. I was slightly panicked that the baby was going to come early and we were running out of time to snap some photos of my bump & our little family before it expanded. Good thing we did, because he showed up a week early!
This little sassy pants might just love having her picture taken, even though sometimes she pretends she doesn't , haha!
I absolutely love this beautiful floral maxi maternity dress from Pink Blush Maternity. It was so great to wear with my bump but it also has been working postpartum. The neckline works great for nursing, which is always something I seem to forget about after baby comes. This exact dress is sold out but they have a super similar one in pink. They also have amazing non-maternity clothes as well.
It's weird how you can really miss your baby bump after it's gone, even though you are so excited little baby is here to snuggle now.
This man of mine has been the most amazing husband, father, nurse, best friend and so much more. I ended up getting an emergency c-section (more on that later), and I definitely couldn't have done it without him by my side.
I hope you are having a lovely start to your week!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Liquid Matte Lipstick
4/25/2017
I was pretty excited to get these MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks to try out. I have always been curious about a certain someones other matte liquid lipstick but definitely did not want to pay that or dare I say support them, haha.
I tried out a few colors from their range: Warm Beige, Rosewood (one of my all time favourite lip colors from MAKE UP FOR EVER), and Neutral Beige.
This first color is Rosewood (Color 105). It's more of a pinky plum color.
This color is Warm Beige (Color 103). It's more of peachy nude color. It's a little more subtle and on the natural side.
The last one I tried out is Neutral Beige (Color 107). This one is the boldest, more on the brown side and darker.
I found these MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Liquid Matte Lipsticks to dry a little bit darker then they initially go on. The applicator is really easy to use, which is good because you want to be pretty precise lining your lips with these. I would start in the centre of your lips and work your way outwards. What I really loved about these is how long they last! I've worn them to a couple events in the last week, which included eating some yummy appetizers and the lipstick stayed on perfectly. I didn't have to reapply or anything. I was worried it was going to feel a little heavy but it's actually the opposite. Super light weight feeling!
If you are a little nervous about trying out a matte liquid lipstick, I would try out these ones and start with the Warm Beige color. Have you tried out any matte liquid lipsticks before? Let me know your favourites!

Spring Forward
3/20/2017
I can't believe that it's the first official day of Spring! Of course spring in Alberta means there is still snow on the ground and it will probably snow again, haha!
It has been warmer out which means I can finally wear some of my maxi dresses. I am so happy about this since I am starting to get sick of a lot of my wardrobe, well at least what still fits. Haha!
This floral maxi dress from Pink Blush is the most insanely comfortable dress I have probably ever worn. And it's equally as cute! Another thing I love about this dress is that it is also a nursing dress, so I can wear it after baby comes.
There are really so many pretty dresses and other pieces on their site. I think this dress would be so beautiful to wear for Maternity photos, or this one.
Pink Blush also has non-maternity clothes too, including this dress in other colors. I have a feeling I will be wearing it a lot over the next little while as this belly keeps expanding. Also make sure to check out this Instagram post to see how you can win a $75 Gift Card to Pink Blush!
Only about a month & a half to go! I feel like I still have so much to do! Any tips on preparing for the second babe?

Maternity Denim
2/23/2017
I'm almost in my third! trimester, which seems crazy! This pregnancy has flown by! I have definitely been finding it a little more challenging dressing this time around. Last time when I was at this stage it was summer, so I could just wear my Birkenstocks and dresses. Winter in Edmonton does not give me that luxury. I have been dressing more in leggings and maternity jeans.
Thank goodness for Pink Blush Maternity. These ripped denim jeans are a style that I would normally wear sans baby bump, and the large band is great for supporting my belly. They also have tons of other styles here.
Also this top is all kinds of amazing. It's on trend with the little cut outs, and it's super comfy. Plus I can wear it with leggings as well. I find a lot of maternity tops are kind of boring and not on trend, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem.
I also have my eye on one of their beautiful nursing/maternity robes. I think it would be great to bring to the hospital, to at least try and feel a little bit human post delivery, haha!

Mini & Me Style

As you might be able to tell, dressing up Emery is one of my favourite things to do. Currently she still lets me pick out her outfits, haha! I know that will change soon enough. One of my favourite places to get her clothes is from the Gap and Old Navy. They have the most adorable clothes around, and they always have great sales. I would definitely recommend signing up for their emails because they always send special promos & codes to their email subscribers.
I also love picking out clothes for myself from the Gap and Old Navy as well. Buying denim from the Gap is my favourite place to buy jeans for our family. They have a huge selection of sizes, styles, and colors. I love how it's a one stop shop for the whole family.
This first set of pictures was from the fall when I was still hiding my baby belly. I could still button up these jeans, and I was into flowy tops like this blouse from Old Navy. Cozy sweaters are always a win in my books, especially when they have pockets. Seriously why does anything with pockets make it a million times better? Haha!
Let's just stop for a minute and talk about how adorable Emery is. I might be a little bias, haha! This hat and that sweater, and her little ripped jeans are just too much!
Flash forward a few months later, and we are both still rocking these jeans. I just undo the button & loop an elastic band through it. Thankfully the Gap has an awesome selection of maternity jeans when even the elastic band trick won't work, haha!
I usually buy Emery's clothes a size or two larger so they last awhile. You can always roll up the sleeves or cuff the pants up. These matching sweaters are actually from Old Navy from last year, and it still fits Emery. I just layered a tank top underneath for a little bit of extra length. Old Navy usually has matching things for Mama and daughter, which of course is so fun and hard to resist! I have my eye on these cute swing dresses for Mama and mini!
