Beauty Exfoliation
1/28/2016
Winter is definitely one of those times where I like to pay extra attention to my skin ( I've talked about it here and here before). Usually I am pretty bad at remembering to exfoliate. In an effort to improve this I decided to pick up a few products that smelt delicious, were packaged pretty & intrigued me.
These konjac cleansing sponges seem to be all the rage in the skincare world, so I was intrigued and decided to give it a try. It is a little odd looking but it works wonderfully! It's very gentle on the skin so if you have sensitive skin, I would highly recommend it. I usually use it paired with Julep's hydrating body cleansing oil.
This shower scrub is super awesome! The scent is strong and invigorating, also a bonus for when you need to wake up. Shake the bottle before pouring out a little amount (trust me, a little goes a long way) and scrub away! What I love about this coffee scrub is it leaves you feeling smooth & moisturized. An added bonus is that the caffeine from the coffee grounds can temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite & it also gives your skin a firmer appearance. This is made by a local girl which is also very cool, girl boss crush for sure!
Obviously the adorable packaging of this sea salt scrub had me running to the till at Anthropologie (am I the only one who is a sucker for cute packaging?). Thankfully this salt scrub also turned out to be useful. The fig & honey scent is sweet and earthy, and super refreshing. I find that the scent stays with me all day after using it, which is a nice bonus. I also like how all of Mission Groves products are made in small batches using all natural ingredients.
What body scrubs do you like to use? Please hit me with your favourites below!

Life
When I was younger every night before bed, I would spend at least an hour reading. Depending on the book, I would read late into the night ( I'm looking at you Harry Potter!). Then came along University where I had to read, and reading wasn't just for fun anymore ( I suppose if you were a real keener you might have enjoyed reading in University ;)). Of course the iPhone showed up & all reading before bed was long forgotten. I know I'm not the only one guilty of scrolling through my phone in bed before the lights are out. Doing this usually has me stressing and worrying about things I have to do right before I go to sleep. So starting last night I decided to start reading for fun before bed again. My Mom & I went and picked up some books from Chapters this week. This is our list:

We picked books based on popularity and something that wasn't too heavy. I'm well aware we are a little behind on the Jojo Moyes books (apparently Me Before You has been turned into a movie, coming out in the spring) but better late then never, right? If you know me, you know what a huge Audrey Hepburn fan I am. Naturally I had to pick up Lucy Holliday's novel to read as well!
Another thing I'm trying to do more is indulging myself in a few fun bath products. I am a long time fan of having hot baths (I know it's not everyones cup of tea) so these Herbivore Botanicals bath goodies my sister got me are just perfect. Not to mention I can kill two bird with one stone, enjoy a luxurious bath while reading one of my new books. If I'm feeling extra adventurous I might even pour a glass of wine and light a candle! I'm crazy like that!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels like they are constantly cleaning up toys? Welcome to the chaos that is our living room most days. Little Miss Drag & Drop somehow manages to have all the toys astray within a matter of minutes. When she first began playing more independently I had organized the toys by different kinds into bins. I realize now that this system isn't working. There are toys everywhere, unorganized & the bins have taken over the living room. I am trying to come up with a better storage system for the toys. I have been gathering ideas over on this board on Pinterest. I want something that is simple, can hold a decent amount of toys, and isn't an eye sore. These bins are particularly cute, maybe with a lid? I was thinking we could even make a little cushion to put on top so it's multi purpose. What do you use for storing toys? Please share all your secrets with me!

I have been trying to invest in pieces that are classic and will last. This nautical lace top from Anthropologie is beautiful. I can see it transitioning through the seasons and the years. The creme colour and lace make it timeless. Another great piece to invest in is a good pair of denim. I can't stop wearing these Paige Margot distressed skinny jeans. The dark wash is flattering and I love how high the rise is. The rips are subtle and add a little extra detail to the jeans. What pieces have you been investing in lately?

Life
I've decided since it's the New Year and I turned 30 this past week, I need to buckle down & focus on some goals of mine. I feel like writing these down and publishing them for the world to see helps to keep me accountable.
Goals:
1.) Clean & decorate my office:
This may seem boring but my messy office really has been blocking my creative juices. My office/closet has turned into a dumping ground. You know, when you are having people over and are trying to hide everything. Yup, we dump it all in that room. I just feel if I have a pretty space just for me, I might actually be more productive & inspired.
2.) Work with other inspirational women:
There are so many wonderful and inspiring women that I know or follow on social media. They constantly inspire me in so many ways. I love the idea of us working together to build each other up. On social media there can be a lot of negativity, comparison & cattiness with women. I want to steer clear of that & focus on how awesome these women are!
3.) Try new ideas on the blog:
I often write the same type of posts on this blog. I would love to step outside of my comfort zone & create some new types of posts for you lovely readers. Some ideas I have thought of so far are food posts, videos, and beauty tutorials.
4.) Partner with my favourite brands:
There are a couple of brands that I have been loyal to for years and I would love to work with them. The negative side of me thinks that will never happen. I've decided to ignore that voice & push forward. Even if it seems like a pipe dream, I am going to keep trying.
5.) Create a line:
One of my longtime dreams is to own/create a line. I have a background in fashion design and visual studies. I would really like to put some of those talents to use. I have a few ideas of what I want to do, so keep your eyes peeled.
Basically I just want to be the ultimate girl boss and create beauty to add to this world. Hit me up if you have any office organization ideas or tips, would like to work together, have suggestions for new blog posts or what you would like to see on this space, tips for working with your favourite brands or any suggestions at all. Comment below or email me at kastles.camponi@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
